Looking for a swoon-worthy college sports romance? Check out Julia Wolf’s newest installment, Jump on Three!
I was first introduced to Julia Wolf through her Savage U series and have been a big fan since. When I found out she was releasing a new book, Jump on Three, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
Jump on Three is the 3rd book in her Savage Academy series, and is one of my new favorites.
This is the story of Ivan and Evelyn who have been friends since they first met. Evelyn has never seen Ivan as more, but he was entranced by her from the beginning.
I read Jump on Three on its publication day on Kindle Unlimited and this book review is my honest opinion.
-Rules are my favorite.
-Order relaxes me.
-Tattooed boys with shaggy hair and soulful eyes are strictly off-limits.
I’ve recently come to the conclusion I’m bad at boyfriends. But as terrible as I am at choosing them, even I would never consider my sister’s former crush—tall, growly, enigmatic Ivan Sokolov. That’s a line I won’t cross, even if Delilah is way over him.
Ivan is just my swim teammate.
The guy who walks me to class and shares his playlists.
And he’s the person who keeps stealing my study room. Sure, there are others, but room three is mine. Which I let him know, in no uncertain terms.
The thing is, Ivan thinks my bluntness is adorable. He’s not scared off by my dozens of questions or need to move. My quirks are cute to him.
And I…well, I can’t stop looking at him, even though I shouldn’t. I also can’t resist following him—just a little—to find out his secrets.
I know better. Bullies and a life that hasn’t always been kind have toughened me up. I’m a realist and this is black and white.
Except when Ivan’s lips touch mine and my orderly world is turned upside down, I suddenly start to see how beautiful gray can be.
Summary: Jump on Three by Julia Wolf
Evelyn is a student at Savage Academy, where she attends classes alongside her twin sister, Delilah. Throughout the story, Evelyn’s autism is depicted by her sensitivity to loud noises, her tendency to seek out various textures, and more distinctive traits.
Despite these challenges, Evelyn is kind-hearted and always willing to help others. Due to her autism, she has a harder time understanding social cues and often relies on Delilah’s guidance.
On the other hand, the Russian bad boy, Ivan, has been drawn to Evelyn since they first met at Savage Academy. He sees beyond her condition and appreciates her for who she is. But Evelyn has never seen him as more than a friend.
Things take an interesting turn when they start fighting over a study room and Ivan becomes more than a blip on Evelyn’s radar.

My thoughts: Jump on Three by Julia Wolf
I absolutely loved this book! Julia Wolf did an amazing job of portraying Evelyn’s autism respectfully and realistically. It was heartwarming to see Ivan’s unwavering love and support for her, despite her challenges.
The chemistry between Evelyn and Ivan is palpable, and you can’t help but root for them throughout the book. From the beginning, they are in each other’s worlds–Ivan tries to help Evelyn overcome her fear of jumping off the high diving board.
-Jump on Three, Julia Wolf, chapter 1 page 10Ivan: “Are you scared of heights?”
Evelyn: “No. It’s the fall that terrifies me.”
Ivan: “Then why try to jump?”
Evelyn: “To see if I can fly.”
Evelyn has been called weird and creepy in the past, struggling to understand social signals. This computes in her logical brain that Ivan might think some of the same things other people do.
But Ivan, oh Ivan–he sees Evelyn for the beautiful person she is. Every time Evelyn thinks he’s going to act like all the other people, he proves her wrong.
In fact, Ivan thinks Evelyn is so far out of his league that he doesn’t even think he has a chance with her.
It’s a toe-curling, giggle-inducing love story.
What I loved even more was the dynamic between Evelyn and Delilah, and how their relationship continued to stay strong throughout the story. We see how close their relationship is in the 2nd book, These Two Wrongs (Delilah’s story).
And their relationship just continues to grow even deeper. Evelyn also feels like she’s gaining true friends who just aren’t friends with her because of Delilah.
Wolf’s writing style is personal and engaging, making it easy to get lost in the world of Savage Academy. Her characters are relatable and lovable–you can’t help but want more of the Savage world.
The cherry on top is the cover! I love how it embodies Ivan with the swallow. #iykyk
Final thoughts: Jump on Three by Julia Wolf
Overall, Jump on Three is an emotional and heartwarming love story that will make you laugh, swoon, and maybe even shed a tear or two. Wolf’s writing will transport you into the lives of these characters and leave you wanting more.
If you’re a fan of new adult romance with diverse representation, then this book (and series) is definitely for you.
I highly recommend adding Jump on Three to your TBR list, and if you haven’t already, check out the other books in the Savage Academy series. You won’t regret it!
