Looking for a laugh out loud romantic comedy with a billionaire hero and curvy FMC? You’ve come to the right place!
Mother Faker is the first book of the MomCom series where a group of four women who were best friends in college make a pact to take care of each other in their single motherhoodedness.
One of the friends is inheriting a large Brownstone and on a weekend away, they plot to move in together now that each one has found single motherhood difficult (each with their own story).
Each book is written by a different author but has the same world-building throughout the series. This is such a unique book series, and I was here for all of them!
I read this book on Kindle Unlimited and these are my honest opinions.
Moving with my three best friends and our seven kids into a dilapidated brownstone in Boston may have seemed like the most insane thing I’d do this year. Apparently the universe said hold my beer.
Because last night I got drunk and married my boss.
Don’t worry, it’s all fake. Or at least everything after ‘I Do’ will be.
Beckett Langfield is grumpy, rich and hates kids. I’m an overworked, overstressed, and overweight single mom. The only reason we’re getting married is because he needs to fix a PR disaster and I am available. As in sitting next to him, in a bar, when he has this brilliant idea.
Considering I just got divorced, I’m not looking to do that again. But Beckett makes me an offer that I literally can’t refuse, so I don’t.
He’ll help fix up our broken house and all I have to do is take a few pictures and pretend we’re happily married. Easy peasy.
Now if someone could just remind him that it’s all fake.
Author’s note: Mother Faker is book one of the Momcoms Series and features an accidental marriage between a billionaire grump and a plus size single mom who happens to work for him where there is only one bed, tons of laughs, a lot of ducks, and it’s always been you vibes.
Summary: Mother Faker by Brittanee Nicole
Liv has just moved in with her three best friends and all of their 7 kids altogether in an inherited Brownstone that’s falling apart.
Apart from the chaos at home, Liv’s going through a divorce because her husband cheated on her. As head of PR at her company, Liv’s boss is also giving her trouble now that he’s blown up in the news as a child hater.
Now she’s woken up with a hangover and a ring on her finger, married to her boss!
Beckett claims to help her with her kids and offers to fix her broken house while they’re pretending to be married and living together.
But things start to feel too real and Liv’s not sure if it’s fake anymore.
My Thoughts: Mother Faker by Brittanee Nicole
I wasn’t sure what I was getting into with the MomCom series. In fact, I didn’t know they were different authors until I finished Mother Faker, but I’m so glad I started this series!
From all appearances Liv’s life is a mess: she’s getting divorced, her kids and her best friends’ kids are creating chaos at home, she’s living in a dilapidated house, and her boss can’t seem to stop leaving her alone long enough to get her life together.
And now they’re fake married. Oh, and he’s moving in!
Beckett on the other hand has been sort of in love with Liv for a long time, but he couldn’t ever make a move because she was married. Now that he’s got his hands on her, Beckett isn’t sure he can do the whole fake relationship thing.
He moves in and picks up babysitting, fixing up broken parts of the house, and charming Liv to no end. Add in a surprise pet and the laughs just keep coming.
I loved all the relationships in this story. Liv and her best friends are what I aspire to have one day. Though Beckett wants to stay detached by giving everyone nicknames, he becomes the stability that everyone’s seeking.
Though Liv’s friends give him a hard time, he starts to worm his way into their hearts.
I cannot express enough praise for this book! I highly recommend you dive into it immediately!
Final Thoughts: Mother Faker by Brittanee Nicole
Mother Faker is a fantastic start to the MomCom series and sets the bar high for the rest of the books.
I loved the humor, heart, and complex relationships between characters. This book was a quick read that left me wanting more. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this crazy group’s journey through single motherhood together.
Definitely add this book to your reading list!
